IFGE The software used to run the ifge.org website, PostNuke CMS, was updated over the last week. We regret that this caused the site to be intermittantly unavailable during the process. IFGE.ORG gets upwards of three million visits a year, and the large numbers of visitors has put a strain on the existing server. Additional upgrades are scheduled to deal with the load. We apologize for any inconvenience while we complete this process.
Thank You,
The IFGE Web Development Team

IFGE ?The next twelve months are going to be the most challenging time in the history of the International Foundation for Gender Education? declared Yvonne Cook-Riley, newly elected Chair of IFGE, as she addressed hundreds of people gathered at IFGE's 20th Conference.

?Over the last twenty years our community has evolved, and our community urgently needs IFGE to evolve to meet their needs?, said Cook-Riley. ?Effective immediately, this board has a mandate to effect an immediate change of direction and to refocus on our mission to serve the entire transgender community?? IFGE The IFGE website has been restored and upgraded after being temporarily suspended last week. Attempts by a Chat Room user to host illegal downloads on the server had resulted in our hosting company suspending IFGE's site. IFGE has used the opportunity to upgrade to the latest version of the PostNuke content management system and move the site to a new server. The upgrade should provide increased functionality and security. We apologize for any inconvenience.

IFGE IFGE needs a kind donation of a SVHS Video player.

Sadly our old machine has moved on to greener pastures and we need a
replacement to allow duping copies of some IFGE tapes from the high quality
masters we have in SVHS format. If anyone out there has a working machine,
or would like to donate a new one, we could sure use it.

Please note: This must be a “SVHS” not the more available “VHS” machine

I crossed the bridge again tonight, picking my way among the icy leftovers of the intense early arrival of winter. Found my brick, too; midnight and the new year would wait while I considered it one more time, feeling so inconspicuously anonymous in the crowd of New Year?s revelers. Just one of hundreds come to see the old year out and the new in with the midnight fireworks over the river, my transness, my queerness invisible in the revelry, and heavy clothing for the night?s chill.

IFGE IFGE will be hosting an information table at the Boston Youth Pride on May 15, 2004.  Executive Director Denise Leclair will be there giving out free copies of Transgender Tapestry magazine.

IFGE IFGE launched its new website on May 4 of this year. Based on the open source Content Management System (CMS) PostNuke, the new site will allow large volumes of articles to be published on the web and give users powerful search capabilities. The new site is still in its infancy and will be evolving before your eyes as it is brought into full operation. Please be patient as the new features are integrated into the site. Your comments on the new site are welcomed.

I returned from my recent west coast visit to bad news: while I was gone, we ran out of money.

This is not earthshattering news, it happens to us regularly.

IFGE
International Foundation for Gender Education, Inc.

I would like to address the condition of the International Foundation for Gender Education with you, our readers and supporters. I feel it necessary for you to have firsthand knowledge of where we are and where we are going.

IFGE offers a variety of programs. The most visible is our quarterly journal, Transgender Tapestry. While we maintain this journal as a separate program, it is in reality fully integrated with the rest of the organization.

Many people feel that in this day of the Internet Transgender Tapestry is the primary reason for IFGE?s existence. I would ask that you read not only about the magazine, but about our other projects and services, and what we are doing about IFGE as an organization.
