Category: Main -> Winslow St Fund QuestionAnswerWhat Is the Winslow St Fund?The Winslow Street Fund (?Winslow Street?) is an endowment established by the International Foundation For Gender Education (?IFGE?) to provide funding for educational and outreach activities that benefit the Transgender Community.
Winslow Street makes grants to individuals, organizations or programs that benefit the Transgender Community.
Programs such as Spice Conference for Education and the International Conference on Transgender Law and Employment Policy have received grants to provide scholarships and other services. Winslow Street has made almost thirty grants totaling nearly twenty thousand dollars
The Winslow Street Trustees are chosen from the Transgender Community and must be approved by the IFGE Board of Directors. Although Winslow Street is a part of IFGE, the trustees are empowered to act on their own judgement in making grants and raising funds for the future.
All funds donated to Winslow Street are invested in an high grade, mutual funds or selected stocks of large capitalization public companies to create additional income for grant giving and to increase the size of the fund. Winslow street publishes its financial report annually as part of the annual report of IFGE. You may obtain a copy of the latest report by writing to the Chairperson Winslow Street Fund c/o The International Foundation for Gender Education.
Winslow Street will accept donations of almost any negotiable financial instrument. We will also accept bequests and work with you and your legal advisor to maximize the estate planning benefits you and your estate can receive.
Winslow Street was formed to fill a need in the transgender community and to demonstrate that this community is capable of taking care of its own. Before Winslow Street, there was no specific mechanism to provide funding in the Transgender Community for programs, outreach and education. In order to obtain funding from traditional sources we had to build credibility. Winslow street has lived up to its mission to fund worthwhile projects and create a permanent endowment for the Transgender Community.
To make a contribution to the Winslow Street Fund, complete the form below indicate for form of payment and mail to IFGE. IFGE is a 501c3 corporation and all donations are tax deductible.
To obtain a grant or loan, send a letter of interest to Chair, Winslow Street Fund, c/o IFGE. State the purpose of the request, the amount requested and who will administer the funds. Please be specific in your program or project development request enclosing sufficient documentation to insure approval.
